TACID's Role in the Community

TACID plays a unique role in the community as a consumer driven organization.  As an organization formed by people with disabilities for people with disabillities, our model of peer support is unmatched in the community. 

 

How is Peer Support Different?

Peer support is an opportunity for people living with disabilities to help each other - sometimes it can be more effective to solve problems when you can talk with someone who has been down that path before.

     

Blind and Low Vision Program

Housing & Work

Serving all people with disabilities in Tacoma, Lakewood, and Pierce County surrounding communities.  Services include: information and referral on affordable or accessible housing, career consultation, supported employment assistance, and job clubs, homeless crisis management, and supportive housing. Mental Health Resource Center
